“Triple silver” with high usability
With the increasing requirements for summer heat protection, AGC Interpane is gearing its triple silver-coated solar control glazing towards the best possible applicability for processors. One example is the new and highly selective “Stopray Ultraselect 60/27”, which is available in tape and fixed sizes.
The product closes the gap between the “Stopray Ultraselect 51/23” variants and the “Stopray Ultraselect 70/33”, which is designed for maximum daylight transmission. With flexible dimensions of up to 3.21 x 19 meters (on request), it is aimed at both the German and international project business. Triple silver-coated solar control glass is manufactured by “AGC Interpane Architectural Glass”. The newly created unit is a merger of the German sites in Lauenförde and Plattling, which AGC Interpane recently reorganized and restructured in order to be able to act even faster and more flexibly.
The summer of 2023 once again showed that global climate change is bringing with it ever longer and more frequent periods of heat, which must be taken into account in the planning phase of buildings and in renovation projects in order to counteract the increasing risk of overheating. At the same time, users still want the highest possible daylight transmission, as this increases comfort and reduces the need for artificial lighting. With its high selectivity (S = 2.22), the new Stopray Ultraselect 60/27 offers the solution: with a g-value of just 27 percent, it protects rooms behind large glass façades from overheating in summer, effectively reducing the need for air conditioning. At the same time, it transmits a high 60 percent of visible daylight, for maximum use of daylight and bright rooms all year round. Light reflection is low at 11 percent to the outside and 15 percent to the inside – this and the excellent color neutrality favor the unadulterated view. The low angle dependency for color stability in the exterior view is also noteworthy. With a Ug value of just 0.6 W/(m2K), the triple glazing provides excellent protection against rooms cooling down in cold temperatures, saving heating costs and protecting the climate.
All solar control glazing from the Stopray family has been awarded the “Cradle to Cradle” sustainability certificate in silver and is also available as “low carbon” variants as part of the AGC Group’s new CO2-reduced production. By using them, architects and planners improve the classification of their buildings in environmental certifications according to DGNB, LEED, BREEAM etc.
