Sound insulation

Protection against noise is health protection

Our Stratophone soundproof glass – also marketed as ipaphon in the DACH region for a long time – offers a high level of security as laminated glass, but also effective sound insulation that keeps outside noise at bay. Protection against noise is protection against stress and thus ensures greater comfort in buildings.

Three values – Rw, C and Ctr – determine the sound attenuation performance. These are defined in EN 12758 and are specified in decibels (dB) in accordance with EN ISO 10140-3 between low-frequency sound (e.g. road traffic at low speed) and higher-frequency sound (e.g. children playing).

Consistent certification according to Cradle to Cradle

Our products are not only market leaders in terms of technology and aesthetics, but also ecologically: AGC Glass Europe has been certifying its glazing in accordance with Cradle to Cradle – a strict testing system for sustainability and recyclability – since 2010, making it the pioneer for sustainability in the glass industry. ‘C2C’ describes the sustainability of a product over its entire life cycle. For certification, it must fulfil strict requirements in five categories: Material health, recyclability, renewable energy, water consumption and social responsibility.

AGC Glass Europe has the world’s most comprehensive portfolio of glass products that have been recognised at bronze and silver level.
