Change of management at Interpane

There was a change of management at Interpane when AGC Glass Europe acquired all the shares at the end of last year.

Sebastian Schmidt and Dominik Waldeyer were appointed as new members of the Management Board by the Supervisory Board. Schmidt, who has headed the Belgern (Liebersee district) and Wipperfürth processing sites as Managing Director for more than a decade, has now passed the baton in Belgern to Interpane newcomer Dr. Jan Wennemer. The father of two completed his doctorate at TU Darmstadt in 2012, worked for many years at Frerichs Glas (Verden) and was part of the management team at the Schollglas Group. Wennemer is delighted with the good starting conditions: “I am taking over a very well-established and functioning site in Belgern. The aim for the future is to build on this success.” Wennemer sees the development of an additional insulating glass layer as particularly beneficial and also sees potential for volume growth in the laminated safety glazing segment. It is also important to further expand market share in the national contract business and to strengthen the footprint in local window construction. The close ties to Belgern, Torgau and the surrounding area are also highly relevant for Wennemer: “We will continue to live up to our great responsibility for the region.” Schmidt is delighted to have won Wennemer for this position: “We are continuing the company’s growth course with an experienced person. We believe in the Belgern site because we have a very experienced and good team there and are therefore prepared to invest further. The extent to which a general expansion of the company is feasible will be determined by the local conditions and cooperation with the local authorities.”
