Best applicability: fixed or tape measure, triple or double silver, pretensionable variants

AGC Interpane has been a full member of the AGC Group since the turn of the year 2023. The globally active company has a wide range of double and triple silver-coated glazing, toughenable coated base glass and customized fixed-size logistics for national and international project architecture.

AGC Interpane also implements special solutions with a high level of project expertise, such as high-end functional glazing with a length of up to 19 meters, surfaces with partial coatings and much more, but has also been firmly anchored in the local market for residential and project construction for decades. Back in the 1980s, the company developed “iplus”, the first color-neutral thermal insulation glass, and has been driving energy efficiency in insulating glazing ever since. As part of its ongoing commitment to greater sustainability, around 90 percent of its products have already been certified according to Cradle to Cradle to give architects and investors advantages in the environmental certification of their buildings according to DGNB, LEED, BREAM, WELL and other standards. With its product range, AGC Interpane focuses on the user, who attaches importance to easy processing and high quality.

Stopray und ipasol: high-end solar control glazing

Triple silver-coated solar control glazing with outstanding selectivity has been produced at AGC Interpane in the newly created “AGC Interpane Architectural Glass” unit since September 2023. This is a merger of the German sites in Lauenförde and Plattling, which have been reorganized structurally in order to be able to act even faster and more flexibly in the project business. Due to increasing requirements for summer heat protection, AGC Inter-pane is gearing its solar control glass range towards the best possible usability for further processing: The new and highly selective “Stopray Ultraselect 60/27” (S =2.22) is available as a ribbon size and in flexible fixed sizes. It completes the range between the “Stopray Ultraselect 51/23” variants and the “Stopray Ultraselect 70/33”, which is designed for maximum daylight transmission. With a g-value of just 27 percent, it protects rooms behind large glass facades from overheating in summer, but at the same time transmits a high 60 percent of visible daylight, for bright rooms all year round. The light reflection is relatively low at 11 percent to the outside and 15 percent to the inside – this and the excellent color neutrality favor the unadulterated view. The low angle dependency for more color stability in the exterior view is also noteworthy. With a Ug value of just 0.6 W/(m2K), the triple-glazed construction provides excellent protection against rooms cooling down in cold temperatures, saving heating costs and protecting the climate.

AGC Interpane also pursues the goal of the best possible usability with its double silver-coated solar control glass: “Stopray Vision 70/35”, “Stopray Vision 62/33”, “Stopray Vision 52/27” and other products are all also available as toughenable T-versions, as ribbon sizes and as fixed sizes in flexible dimensions up to 3.21 x 19 meters. The company’s second sun shading brand is “ipasol”. Examples include the popular and proven products “ipasol neutral 70/37”, “ipasol ultraselect 62/29” and the “ipasol light grey 60/33”, “ipasol platin 47/29” and “ipasol platin 25/17”, which are widely used in international project architecture. All solar control glass from the ipasol and Stopray family has been awarded the “Cradle to Cradle” sustainability certificate in silver and is also available as “low carbon” versions as part of the AGC Group’s new CO2-reduced production.

iplus: energy-optimized thermal insulation

With the “iplus” thermal insulation glazing, AGC Interpa-ne focuses on maximum thermal insulation and daylight transmission as well as high g-values, which achieve solar energy gains in the cold months and significantly improve the energy balance. These include the standard products “iplus 1.1” and “iplus 1.0” for a Ug-value of 1.1 and 1.0 respectively. All products are also available as toughenable T-variants. The triple thermal insulation glass “iplus LS” uses a special base glass for energy-optimized triple thermal insulation glass. The emissivity of the coating is higher than that of the iplus base glass. iplus LS achieves an excellent light transmittance of 73 percent and, with a high g-value of 62 percent, achieves high solar energy gains in the cold season. The triple glazing with argon gas filling achieves a Ug value of 0.6 W/(m²K). To optimize the excellent energy performance of high-quality triple glazing, the use of thermally improved edge seal systems is always recommended. All iplus products have been awarded the “Cradle to Cradle” sustainability certificate in silver and are also available as “low carbon” versions as part of the AGC Group’s new CO2-reduced production.

More safety, best color neutrality, high sound insulation

With “ipasafe” and “Stratobel”, AGC Interpane offers two strong brands for the highest safety requirements. “Stratobel Strong” laminated safety glass achieves greatly improved mechanical properties and excellent color neutrality thanks to a new type of film in the laminated safety glass, which does not distort the inherent color of the glass even with thick structures. Under load, the glass exhibits particularly low glass bending. In the event of glass breakage, the splinters adhere to the viscoplastic film, which remains largely intact and makes penetration considerably more difficult. The risk of delamination is virtually eliminated due to the high adhesion of the film to the glass. Stratobel Strong thus also enables particularly thin, filigree glass structures with low weight. It is available in various thicknesses and in flexible dimensions up to 3,210 × 6,000 mm and can be processed in the same way as conventional laminated glass. As a demonstrably ecologically sustainable product, it bears the Cradle to Cradle Silver certificate.

Soundproof glass is multifunctional glass

Soundproof glass is versatile, as it can be combined with other functions in addition to sound insulation. “Stratophone” improves room comfort by protecting against noise pollution (Rw up to 53 dB), while also offering contemporary thermal insulation (up to 0.5 W/(m2K)) and increased security. If it is provided with an additional solar control coating, it offers effective protection against overheating in summer in order to reduce the climate load in buildings. Stratophone is used as insulating glass in windows and facades as well as laminated safety glass in partition walls, room dividers or doors in interior spaces. Effective protection against noise pollution is achieved by various factors: these can include increasing the mass of the glass as well as enlarging the spaces between the panes, asymmetrical structures, special sound insulation safety films and a combination of these options. Modern soundproof glass thus covers a wide range of sound insulation properties in definable frequency ranges. Your laminated safety glass has the same aesthetics as normal glazing, but also protects against injuries, falls, break-ins, vandalism and noise. The degree of sound insulation and security can be configured as required. In addition to the standard product “Stratophone Clearlite” (mid-iron float glass), the highly transparent variant “Stratopho-ne Clearvision” (low-iron float glass) is also available. It has a neutral appearance and maximum daylight transmission even with very thick structures. In combination with one or more “Clearsight” coatings, reflections can also be reduced to a minimum, making the glass almost invisible. Soundproof glass is not only used in windows and facades, but also in interiors. Here they ensure well-structured, modern office landscapes and combine aesthetics and function: soundproof wall systems ensure pleasant room acoustics and contribute to light control for optimum working conditions. Open-space areas are thus functionally structured. All Stratophone products have been awarded the “Cradle to Cradle Silver” certificate for their sustainability. By using Stratophone, architects and planners improve the classification of their buildings in environmental certifications according to DGNB, LEED, BREEAM etc. The second sound insulation brand at AGC Interpane is “ipaphon”, which is only produced and distributed by the German site in Hildesheim. It is combined with an iplus 1.1 thermal insulation coating as standard, but is also available with ipasol, Stopray or Sunergy solar control coatings. The range includes double and triple soundproof glazing. All products are characterized by the combination of different pane thicknesses, widened cavities and gas fillings, but in some cases laminated glass equipped with special sound insulation films is also used to ensure additional safety properties.
